About Me

My photo
I think it's safe to say I have transformed from a scrapbooker to a blogger. It's fun to be able to document our family stories. We are a little crazy but we have a lot of fun.

It's A Girl!

For the 4-H show last year, Tucker wanted to do a breeding project.  He went to Bob, a friend of ours and asked him if he would be willing to sell a heifer.  He was willing and Tucker got to pick her out himself.  He named her Jennet.  Shortly after the show, she went to pasture with a bull.  She came home in the summer and the count down began.  Last week, Tucker predicted the calf would come this weekend.  He was hoping for a heifer calf so he could keep her.

Last night at about 10:30 pm, Justin (Tucker's bull who is not the father of the calf) started making a bunch of noise.  He is normally pretty quiet except at feeding time so Johnny went to check it out.  Wearing a robe and snow boots and holding a small flash light, this is what he saw.....

Things looked good so Johnny went to bed.  When Tucker woke up he was mad that no one had woke him.

He went outside right away and spent most of the day really close to the calf. He was excited to find out it is a heifer.  He named her Jennay.  Both momma and baby are doing great.

Guard Dog

The Maniac: "Macy, play point guard."

And she does.

9th Birthday

For his Birthday he wanted banana splits instead of cake.

For his gift all he wanted was a pair of orange Converse All-Star high tops.

We kept telling him that they were bad for his feet.  He would say "What if I  only wear them twice a week?"   Then we would tell him they were expensive and he would say "I will pay for them with my own money."  He even went on the Converse website to make sure they made them in orange.  He wanted them bad.  Turns out they aren't made like they used to be.  They actually have an arch built in.

The Lone Whistler

The Maniac: (While trying to whistle)  "Mom, can you whistle?"
Me:  "Tanner, I hate whistling, I think it's rude and arrogant and makes you seem like you think you are the only person around"
The Maniac: "I thought that was what whistling was for, to keep you company."

Bacon

Me:  "Bacon bits aren't exactly bacon."

The Maniac:  "Impostor!"
