About Me

My photo
I think it's safe to say I have transformed from a scrapbooker to a blogger. It's fun to be able to document our family stories. We are a little crazy but we have a lot of fun.

Please Let Us Play Football

The boys have wanted to play football for years.  We have avoided it for years, coming up with several lame excuses like,

  • It's a big commitment
  • It's expensive
  • We would have to travel for games
  • We don't know how much homework you will have next school year when it starts
  • Sign ups are too early (they are right after baseball starts and 4-H is still going)
  • Stritenberger wont fit on the back of a jersey.  :)

The Maniac's basketball moves looked a lot more like football moves and got him some attention from coaches.  The Dad-peer pressure started when a football coach approached Johnny and mentioned how great Tanner would be at football.  The coaches at Tucker's level have been trying to recruit him for about three years as well.  One night we had a serious family meeting about it.  We told the boys that we had no real reason not to sign them up if they earned it and proved that they really wanted it.  The boys earn tickets for chores.  What we came up with was they had to earn and give us 200 tickets to play.  It sounds like a lot, but they get tickets for things like brushing their teeth and getting dressed with out being told.  One day I came home and found this......

It took them about a month but they both earned 200.  They are signed up.  Football here we come.
