This was the first year that the Maniac was able to show and sell for 4-H. His Momma pig had a nice litter of babies.
He had a hard time deciding which one to keep for himself.
He ended up keeping the "hurt leg one" because he didn't want to sell her to someone else in case she didn't heal and grow correctly. He sold five other babies to 4-H kids for the show.
She healed fine and was named Ruthy.
Ruthy placed second in homegrown. Kent's Supply Company bought her for $3 per lb. He made $211
